Jean Harmison is the founder and owner of Club Management Services and HOA Management Solutions. As the founder, our team looks to her for guidance but also her positive outlook on everything.
Jean grew up in Indianola, Iowa, where she still hails as a running track hall of famer. That same ambition led her to graduate from the University of Central Missouri with a Bachelor of Science degree in Personnel Management. Her energy and excitement for life continues throughout every day – anyone that attempts to slow her down will find out she’s already at least one step ahead.
After moving to Springfield in 1987, Jean spent the next 10 years volunteering for various organizations, and during those years, she held many positions on various boards. Jean is a past sustainer president of the Junior League of Springfield; in 2011, she was selected to serve on the Arvest Bank Board of Directors. In 2012, she was awarded the Springfield Business Journal’s prestigious 20 Most Influential Women Award. In 2016, she led Club Management Services to be a top-five finalist for the Springfield Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year Award.
It’s easy to see why Jean was a natural when starting a company that helps guide associations and boards of directors. There is nothing Jean isn’t capable of – and always with a smile.
As CMS and HOAMS continue to expand, Jean still makes her family – her greatest accomplishment – her top priority. She loves to spend any chance she gets with her husband, two daughters, and two grandchildren – including a monthly adventure date with her husband that always makes it on her calendar. Although her free time is rare, Jean enjoys going on leisurely walks, reading, volunteering, and discovering new, fascinating hiking paths at sunset.
From the first days of opening CMS out of her home, Jean has always strived to be a good role model for her family, work team, and clients. As a leader, Jean tries to instill the qualities of an honest, hard day’s work. If you haven’t met her yet, which would be surprising because she knows nearly everyone, you’ll see that she lives her life with a foundation of truth and isn’t afraid to do what’s right. The entire CMS/HOAMS team is inspired by her daily ambition as we do our best to honor the history and foundation that she has built for us.
